October 2017
All worship services are Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
Oct 1st     "Our World-Wide Song"     Philippians 2:1-11
In Philippians 2, Paul captures the words of an early Christian song about the person, work and nature of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  These stirring words are our "International Anthem" a shared belief of Christians in every part of the world.  Join us as we celebrate Holy Communion, mindful of our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.
Oct 8th       "Are We There Yet?"     Philippians 3:7-16
Paul reflects on both the the gains and losses of his life, and pens these stirring words:  "One thing I do: forgetting what lies behind, and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal toward the prize of the heavenly call of God in Christ." (Philippians 3:13-14)
Oct 15th     "We Can All Be Paul"       Philippians 4:4-9
Judy Love will lead us in our Laity Sunday service.  She will continue in Philippians, discussing the timeless exhortations Paul gives to both the people of Philippi and all of us today.
Oct 22nd     "Our Partnership with God"        Genesis 28:10-22
God leaves no doubt about how we are to decide how much of what He has given us we are to give back to Him.  The only question is, are we doing it?  Pastor Tom Rothhaar will lead us in worship.
Oct 29th     "The Continuing Reformation"     Matthew 21:33-46
October 31, 1517, Martin Luther began something we call The Reformation.  Some relegate to history, an event 500 years ago.  Others, in the spirit of Jesus' Parable of the Unjust Stewards (Matthew 21:33-46) heed the warning Jesus gave that when the Church fails to do Christ's work, God gives that mission to others willing to do it.
DVD recordings of each Sunday service are available the following Tuesday through our church office. If you would like a copy, please call Judy in the church office at (951) 679-1016.
